Express Scribe is the easiest transcription program I have ever used! Although I couldn\'t get my foot pedal to work -- no problem! Using the keystroke buttons to control the dictation is there to the rescue. The learning curve is about less than 5 mins. I am recommending this to my friends at work, personal and people I network with on Facebook!
So far works great! I use an Infinity USB foot control, and ESTP 5.01 integrated with it with no problem. ESTP 5.01 seems just as good as the \"leading brand\" software we\'ve been using, and now see no reason to keep using. Thanks!
Hi, my AVG Internet Security flagged this program up as containing a trojan. I don\'t think it does (it hasn\'t tried to connect to the internet), have tried it and have been very happy with it. It does all it says on the tin and lets you use the controls whilst typing in word (it uses F keys to speed up, slow down, fast forward etc.).
The audio was great. I have used this software for a few years now - I am a scopist - but for whatever reason when I installed it on a laptop with Vista 64-bit system I kept getting a message that the computer could not find drivers for the pedal. I do not have a generic pedal.I would love to use it again, if I can bet that problem resolved.
This is a very simple-to-use yet handy program. You can play various audio files and then use a foot petal or keyboard to control multiple playback functions. You can speed up and slow down the audio. It looks like there's other stuff I haven't even tried yet. It was very easy to set up and very fast to get going. Thanks!
I want to play wave files for MT I am doing medical transcription as homebased. I downloaded express scribe but I cannot play some wave files for medical transcription jobs and asking for codec compression have to install. Please tell me what I have to do and which version I want to do.
Thank u
With regards,
Murugesan.

Big disappointment - doesn\'t run under Ubuntu 10.10 at all. At first, looks good, nice features, but reality starts with not finding audio files, after successful detection, a hanging sound file, random shut-downs on mouse-clicks, finally got hanging till force-quit.
The product is great. I just wish it supports more audio formats like the windows version.
I am not able to install and run this on ubuntu.
using with Ubuntu 10.04 on Macbook laptop.works well, a bit unstable.when I press play on foot pedal (Infinity IN-USB-1) there is always a jump forward by 30secs - I have not found yet any way to fix that.An Olympus RS 24 pedal does not work. But it doesn\'t seem to be recognised as a valid device by Ubuntu.
express scribe 4.31 in ubuntu does not play any format wav, dss, mp3.... it is asking for some acm codecs, can provide me with the necessary website location to download the different codecs. Thanks in advance
Good Product under windows. Still not stable in Linux. Hot keys do not work correctly and causes the program to crash. When will they address this problem?

OK but not what I thought it was I guess I misread the description for this product. It doesn't actually transcribe audio into sheet music as I thought but gives you a rough sense of what notes are being played by creating lines over a keyboard. You can then doublecheck by playing the note and transcribing it on your own. Useful for professionals, but not the amazing product I envisioned.
Not bad, not bad at all. I think 12keys is a nice little program. I have been tring to find sheet music for a song I have been play around with remixing with several others that are very much the same in beat and tempo, but could not figure out the arrangement for the forth song then I went to Google and done search for a note writer program and BAM, I found 12 Keys and it worked fine. It still amazes me that it did not cost any thing to download it.Thanks for writing it, and puting out as freeware. Again thanks, incibus72.
This is a very useful piece of software... and I recommend it to anybody who needs assitance in music retranscription. It works best on single track material obviously, but it can also be very useful in multi instrument retranscrption (if you can isolate the instrument by yourself with your ears, like a bass part for example).
Why I uninstalled 12keys I would have continued testing the product, but it immediately blocked my iTunes from producing any audio. I had to uninstall your product and reboot before iTunes would work again

Works great. Installation was easy. Intuitively obvious on how to use it.
Easy to use and works great!
The DSS File Converter 2011.01 is very user friendly. I use it to convert .DS2 files to .WAV files for my transcription work.
It\'s a handy program, but I\'m not happy I have to pay for it every 12 months. It\'s not as if it is upgraded/updated and the latest downloaded program has not altered since the one I purchased a year ago. Surely once purchased, this software should NOT have to be paid for annually. It\'s pretty basic and I\'ve never had to keep paying over and over for other software that does so much more, other than AV software--which is understandable as it is continuously being updated with the advent of new viruses, etc.
Sir,I have downloaded the trial version and it is not working;when I copy the file to be converted there is a password which I do not hv;pl guide me to use the trial version.ThanksK Sundararaman
DSS file converter thanks

I have a Dell XPS 8300 Windows 7, 64-bit computer. To date, the IT support from my workplace (Nuance) and IT support from Dell have been unable to get the foot pedal to work. Literally 3 hours has been spent on tech shadowing my computer looking for the reason. I am very, very disappointed as it has taken me out of work now for 2 weeks and still no resolution to the problem. It is the Dell Techician who was in all your web sites trying to find a solution.
It is a great piece of equipment and it is just like my other one which is also an Infinity. Thanks for the wonderful pedal.
I attempted to run this program using \"wine\" (Windows \"emulator\") in a linux environment. It not only failed, it nearly locked up my computer. Many Windows applications run fine using wine, but not this foot pedal testing program.
My new VEC Infinity IN-USB-1 Foot Pedal Version 14 doesn't work "properly" with Winscribe. It will work for a few minutes and then it will not shut off the play and reverse and forward are no longer functioning at that point. Using Windows Vista, IT for the company I do contract work for says it is Vista. Other people I know contracting for the same company don't have this problem on Vista. The Foot Pedal tester doesn't work either... it takes me to a "problem loading page screen" showing the path of http://www.turbodictation.com/fpt.exe, but will not ...
